What happens at Tou-Can
Becoming a parent changes everything, and the early months can be really tough, especially if you and your baby’s other parent aren’t together. Tou-Can is a warm, welcoming playgroup where you can:
- meet other parents and make friends
- chat one-to-one with our Tou-Can workers, about a worry or just how you’re doing
- join in play, themed activities, crafts and celebrations that help you and your little one bond
Groups are free because we know money is tight for lots of families, and nobody should have to choose between coming to group and buying essentials. There’s a donation tin if you’d like to give something.
One-to-one support in the first 1001 days
From pregnancy to your child’s second birthday, we offer one-to-one support with the things that can affect your mental health, your wellbeing and your baby’s development.
Mediation for new parents
Whether you’re together or apart, our mediation for parents of babies and toddlers can help you “press reset” and agree a calm, consistent way of parenting. About family mediation.
Last year 31 families, 39 adults and 63 children, came to Tou-Can. Tou-Can runs thanks to grant funding and to our partners at Sunshine House and Wigan Borough Community First.
