Who we are

TalkFIRST (Talk First) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered charity no. 1162110, at 1st Floor, Ashland House, Dobson Park Way, Ince-in-Makerfield, Wigan, WN2 2DX. We are the data controller for information you give us. You can contact us about your data at tracy@talkfirst.org or on 01942 243620.

What we collect on this website

When you fill in a form, we collect what you type: usually your name, phone number or email address, who you are (for example a parent or a professional) and anything you choose to tell us in your message. We also record whether we can leave you a voicemail or text.

Why we collect it

Only to reply to you and to arrange the help you asked for. Our lawful basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. If you tell us about your health, your family or anything sensitive, we only use it to support you.

Who sees it

Your message is sent by email to the TalkFIRST team. We use trusted services to run the website and send the email (Cloudflare and Resend). We never sell your information or use it for marketing.

We keep what you tell us private. The only time we would share information without asking you is if we were worried about the safety of a child or an adult, or about a crime. Our safeguarding policy explains this.

How long we keep it

If you become a client, your information is kept in line with our data protection policy and the Family Mediation Council’s rules. If you don’t, we delete your enquiry when it’s no longer needed.

This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
